Paul North, Manningham & Airedale Masterplan Manager
I have direct experience of regeneration projects in Manningham and come to the work from Bradford Council’s enterprise team – Bradford Kickstart. During my time with Kickstart I worked on capital projects.
Before this, I managed the staff team that delivered European and Neighbourhood Renewal funded projects through the Manningham Pact Board. I started my career in the early 80’s working with adults on reading, writing and maths and have a long standing commitment to see individuals, organisations and businesses reach their potential. Manningham includes a great range of interesting features and people. That diversity and potential provides opportunity and I look forward to working with those who want to get the most out of these attributes.
Jane Bilous, Economic Development Programmes Officer
I have an environmental background which includes project management, fundraising, partnership working and community engagement in developing and implementing urban greenspace projects.
I hope to bring to Manningham Masterplan the experience I gained from another Local Authority in delivering successful projects in the area. Manningham has some great opportunities to improve some public and open spaces involving local residents and businesses. An example being the derelict site of the former Grosvenor Community Centre on Lumb Lane which we are hoping to develop into a community facility for play, sports and recreation. This will not only create an interesting feature on Lumb Lane, it will also provide opportunities for local children and young people to play, exercise, socialise and thrive, and an enhanced area of greenspace for the whole community to enjoy.
Manningham has a great built heritage including mills and listed buildings. Some of these buildings have been restored and have made a real difference to the area such as Lister Mills and Manningham Library. This has set a standard for Manningham, as an example as what can be achieved in the area.
